Serena Noelle is the only daughter of the all powerful Lord Norman and Lady Scarlet Huff. Serena's parents are very wealthy and only seek to further their wealth and secure the future of their precious daughter. With no sons to succeed him, Lord Norman devises a plan that is sure not to fail.
Serena Noelle Huff is a very beautiful eighteen year old young woman. She has hair black as ebony, lips red as a rose, skin pale as the winter snow, and eyes the color of sparkling gold. Lord Norman knows that his daughter has beauty that no woman could ever possess. He plans to auction off his only daughter's virginity. Any wealthy man would gladly bed her and pay for her innocence. It was a ghastly plan but a good one or so Lord Norman thought.
However Serena has no desire to be bartered off to some rich snob who only wants her body and innocence. She dreams of love and finding a real, honest, decent man who will love her in return.
When Lord Norman starts making arrangements and decrees are issued all throughout England for the lovely Serena, one by one the bids are placed.
Serena dreams of running away to escape her father's cruel plan. She does not wish to sell her purity for mere money.
But when a bid is placed for Serena that is too good to refuse, Serena finds herself far from home, in the palace of King Edward III himself. The King payed the price and now desires to claim his prize. Serena is faced with the decision to run, which would be treason against the King, or stay and lose her virginity to the Monarch of England.
Serena plots to escape before her innocence is taken by a man whom she clearly does not love even though he is the King.
With the help of a new friend, Serena escapes during the night, making her way through the cold streets of London and out into the countryside.
It is Winter and she has no where to go for she is far from her home in Ruby Field. She cannot stand against the fierce cold and soon falls ill, lost in the barren wilderness of the forests of England. What will befall Serena? Will the King find her and force her into his bed?
